Hi. My son is autistic. He started speaking many words meaningfully like Cow, Dog, etc. but when I ask him what's this he never answers. This is happening from 3 the last 3-4 months. Can you please tell us what should we do? We are from India and we already don't listen to his gesture requests.

The child isn't technically in the video so it isn't like this is 'creepy' or 'wrong'. If I had a child with a speech impediment, this would be so useful!

Hey i,m 20 year old and just today I found out that I have been pronouncing g and k sound wrong. I have been using tip of my sound many times for making that sound. And no one has even pointed me yet in my life that I've been saying these wrong. It's just that I knew I didn't sound clear on these letters whenever I heard myself on recordings and sometimes people also couldn't understand it. Ironically my own name starts with G and then middle name starts with K lol 😂. Now I'll trying to change how I produce these sounds. How much time will it take me (an adult) to completely correct my sounds of g and k?

it is fun and easy this video it is entertaining for my kid to do this , but is this really helping any child to speak not just words but full sentences to cought up to kids their age? I am taking my son to speach therapist defectologyst who is doing this since he was 2 years old, now he is 5 and no big improvements and he is inteligent. he has few independent words and thats all. I think there must be something that can really help our kids how we want to. I hope for a miracle. <3

Love and appreciate the information you share! I use various techniques that really become one experience in a natural environment with gross and fine motor activities-- so many opportunities for using gestures and continuous engagement-- taking a trip back to go forward. most of my sessions with my language learners are gross motor and social interactive with encouragement to request sensory breaks including quiet. Many times I will ask the question by checking in or I will notice them becoming dis-regulated, label or narrate what I observe "it looks like you are wanting sounds..." and prompt them with a modeled prompt accordingly for imitation. Gross motor activities for an appropriate learner will provide many opportunities for narrating and labeling as well as teaching natural expressions, running preference assessments, and to checking in.

If this is how you should teach your kids to talk it feels like it should be a medical malpractice case against doctors for telling you just to talk to your kids all day. Because that’s where we’re at and now we’ve been referred to speech therapy despite following a doctor’s directions.

My son is turning 2 in July and he can only clap, point, fist bump, say “mama” and “dada”, he headbutts (that’s super fun 🙄😂), and he can nod or shake his head. I’ve tried practically everything and he just won’t talk :/ it really makes me feel bad because I feel like I’m not doing enough for him. We have a friend who’s daughter is literally 4 months younger than him and she can speak so well 😔 but he understand when we talk to him. We tell him yes, no, give me that please, bring this to mama/dada, and he does it. He can climb into his high chair to show us he’s hungry but he doesn’t try to say it. This video really helps, hopefully I’ll come back in a few months with better news ❤

Hello Ms. Kelly, I had a question. I know most of your content is geared towards children however, I was wondering whenever you free have time is it possible you could produce additional content That helps young adults with stuttering? I'm a 28 year old that has had a speech impediment my entire life and I desperately want to put a end to it. I saw some of your previous videos on stuttering that helps young adults to and I think it was great and I would like to learn more.

I stuttered as a child and into adult hood, it was worse in my teens than got a little better as an adult but to this day I still stutter a bit. I made some observations, when I talk to new people I'm going to date I by habit lower my voice and talk smooth and rarely stutter, then when I talk to my friends or family, or at work, or when I particularly recall and retell a story it's when I stutter the worse. In HS in certain classes I stayed quite most of the time out of fear I would stutter, then In some other classes I was more comfortable with talking and didn't stutter as much. I have been very deeply ashamed of this and couldn't even admit that I stuttered to my self

  • @jkayla_lashae

😅 would not agree that it’s completely made up, not all baby’s grow at the same scale, but there are certainly averages…there is wiggle room for guesstimating sizes according to a store’s preference & across the different places you would buy from. And also have to take into consideration shrinking, design, fabrics, (etc) on why a company would make their sizing choice. So wait actually I get what you’re saying though 😂
